Faye Loraine Allen, age 101, of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, August 13, 2011. She had resided at Eventide Linden Tree since May, 2004, after leaving her farm.
Faye was the daughter of Frank and Lottie (Coleman) Rice, born on July 11, 1910, at Victoria, IL. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Moreland Township, Clay County, Minnesota. Faye received her education in Averill and Glyndon schools. On February 15, 1928 she married Merle Allen in Moorhead. They lived and farmed south of Moorhead.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a member of a circle. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Eagle's Auxiliary and Town & Country Homemakers. She was an avid bowler in two leagues and later in life enjoyed playing cards at the senior center.
She is survived by two sons, Francis (Maxine) Allen, Robert Allen; two daughters, Laura (Barney) Dickhaus and Lois May Hanson, all of Moorhead, MN. One of her pride and joys were her 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Wayne Rice, sister, Mable Hurner and daughter-in-law, Roberta Allen.
