Davids Cabin

Here are some of the pictures from our vacation time at the Davids Cabin. It was really great to visit with the family and see all the updates on the Log Cabin that they have done. I believe this cabin can sleep around almost 20 people, it's a massive place and they have done such a wonderful job decorating it and making it a cabin. Each one of the sons has one of their animals stuffed and on display from their various hunts. Dan's is the massive Elk Head that sits above the fire place, in these pictures it is hidden behind the bears. We actually have a spot picked out for the Elk in our house, but I have a feeling that we'll never be able to get it out of the cabin - it all goes together to well there! Also when looking at these pictures check out the furniture - it's all made by Dan's dad - he did an awesome job.

This first picture is of Katelynn and her 2 cousins, Macey and Tyler. Dan's mom took us to the Flea Market one afternoon and Katelynn found this Dora table and chairs and I got it for $20.00. We hauled this table and chairs around with us from place to place the rest of the vacation - she loves it.


Here the front of the cabin and everyone is taking a break for lunch - the project while we were home was putting in the sidewalk that you see, the cement was poured that morning and this is a round center piece that isn't shown for a fire pit or it would make a great dance floor! It was a lot of work getting the pea rock to show through - it took me and Faith all afternoon spraying it with water, but it turned out great!

4th of July

Here is our family photo from the 4th of July. We were on vacation in Minnesota (of course) and were at our families lake cabin for a couple of days. Dan got a couple days of golfing in and I got some much needed tanning in. Katelynn didn't stay up late enough for the fireworks this year, but maybe next year. We took Katelynn for her first boat ride, Dan and I both went water skiing, and my friends took us for a nice relaxing pontoon ride and yes, we drank of few beers.

Here is Uncle Jeff and Katelynn on the 4th, he bought all this fun 4th of July gear and him and Katelynn had a blast running around the cabin with it all on. Katelynn has not quit asking for Uncle Jeff since we have gotten back in Colorado and stops and looks at any picture that he is in.

Girls Night Out!

Here are a couple of pictures from last Thursday night, when it was the girls! We went out to eat at Mexican Village and the went to Sidestreet in Moorhead - we had a lot of fun doing the girly chit chat and nobody bothered us in our corner.

Summer Vacation

We are back home from our vacation to Minnesota. We started out to Minnesota Friday afternoon and made the long 14 hour drive (which is actually longer when traveling with a toddler). We did break down and buy a portable DVD player for Katelynn to watch some videos on the way - it went pretty well on the way there, she watched a couple of movies and we played some of her CD's and then she went to sleep until around 8am and we had arrived! We first went to Dan's parents cabin and did some visiting with everyone and did some 4-wheeling. The girls (and Dan's nephew Tyler) went to a flea market on Sunday and I found a wood table and chairs for Katelynn for $20.00 - it was a steal of deal (at least I hope it was, he wanted 25.00 and I got him down from that?!) However later that day Dan's brother Matt had an ATV accident and had to be rushed to the emergency room and later hospitalized for the rest of the week - please keep him in your prayers for a speedy and full recovery. After that happened we hung around waiting for phone call updates and thinking about how important life is and all the safety precautions that we need to take when using motorized vehicles. We then headed to my parents house for some much needed rest. On Tuesday it was off to the golf course for Dan and to the Lake Cabin for me and Katelynn, we lit off fireworks later that night and then played in the lake and the sun for the 4th of July. I had a girls night out Thursday night in Fargo and Dan went to visit his boys'. Friday was back to the golf course for Dan and to the lake for me and Katelynn. Later that night we got our X-mas presents delivered from my brother (yes, I said X-mas) and Katelynn fell in love with "Uncle Jeff" all over again. We hit the road on Saturday morning and went and saw Matt because he was back at home and did some visiting with family and then got back home around 3am. Whew - it was a long week and now it's back to work. Pictures will follow as people send them to me and I get mine developed!
