Adult Trip Only - 4 Days in MN - Day - Reunion Time

Friday was the day that we had been waiting for and the entire purpose for the trip.  We were lazy for the day after staying up late the night before and attempted to get some naps in, but it didn't happen.  We had decided to leave around 3pm that day to start our adventure.  We were off to one of Dan's classmates houses and pick up him and his wife in a town on the way to the reunion.  His friend, John, was not going to go unless we picked him up and we were happy to have some company and time to visit on the way.  We had decided that it would be fun to bar hop a little bit too.  I should mention that Dan and John graduated with 9 kids in their class, crazy isn't it!  Their town was also hosting a street dance that night to raise funds for the fire department so we were pretty excited to see people that we hadn't seen since moving to Colorado 12 years ago.

We arrived at our first stop and did some visiting while they finished getting ready to go.  We had a blast catching up on the drive to our first stop, Breckenridge.  We stopped for a quick beer and of course Dan ran into someone there that him and John knew that Dan used to work for when he was younger.

Our next destination was to Dan's brothers house to see what they were up to.  We got there and Dan's brother was there and then one of his other brothers showed up a little while later.  We ended up staying there a little longer than intended, but it was fun and we also got to see our nieces and nephews.

We ventured through one really small town  as the two guys were reminiscing about one of their classmates and were trying to figure out what house he might be living in on our way to our next stop.  We got a kick out of this old, old gas station and couldn't help but take a picture.  Remember when gas was this low!

Our next stop was properly the weirdest and a tad inappropriate thing that I had been too, midget wrestling.  We stopped and actually paid to get into this.  Only in a town of 200 people would there be a small crowd that would come and watch this, but I guess people have to make a living right?  We ran into a bunch of people that we would see at the street dance later that night.  The guys got a kick out of heckling the wrestlers and their staff.  We stayed for a short time and then it was about 8:30 - 9pm or so and it was time to head to the dance.  We didn't even make it to Dan's parents house before the dance/reunion to say hello and my parents and aunt and uncle were even there setting up there camper to stay for the festivities of the night.  Oops!

We got to the street dance and it was a blast. We were so busy saying hello and giving hugs to people we hand't seen forever.  It was definitely a whirlwind of a night.  Dan saw most of his classmates that night (I mean there were only 9 of them).  We saw his family, his brothers, his friends from school that still live around there and the farmers that we know.  It was great for me that my parents and aunt and uncle were there too.  There of course were a couple of moments that night in true Davids' style, but we'll just move past all of that.
Here are a few pictures that I took at the end of the night.  Unfortunately none of the pictures I took of Dan's class on stage turned out, but I am hoping to get one from one of his classmates.

Darin (Dan's best friend) and me.
He was in charge of the street dance and did a great job.

Friend from town, my dad, my mom, me, my aunt Shelly, and uncle John.
What a blast we had.
At the end of the night we all headed back to the Davids' house.  Dan's brother was having a bonfire so Dan, me, Shelly, and John decided to walk down the street to where he lives and hang out for a little while longer and see what trouble they were causing.  After awhile it was definitely time to go to bed.  We had a great time that night and I was so glad that Dan had decided to go.  Of course now they are saying that Dan and I made the dance.  We definitely dress more like big city people than the small town folk, but everyone couldn't believe how down to earth and nice we were to everyone.  They are wanting to plan another street dance next because they did make some money for the fire department, but they already said that we have to show up if they have one.  Only time will tell on that, til next year .....maybe.
And just as a side note:  I did get harassed a little bit because some people had seen me at the midget wrestling in one outfit and then had a different one I wore to the street dance.  I just laughed and asked the guys - What!  You didn't know that you were supposed to have a change of clothes?  I thought it was hilarious that they noticed!  (you can look at the picture with the gas sign and then one's later in the night)
