Kitchen sinks, baby's, and baths

Dan and I never gave Katelynn a bath in the kitchen sink when she was a baby, I was probably too scared of dropping her or her sliding out of my hands and wacking her head on the side or the faucet, so we played in safe and had the little baby bath tub.

Well, the other week we had picked some green beans from Dan's little garden that he planted this year and Katelynn was washing them off in the sink, this lasted almost a half an hour (unbelievable for her to keep her attention that long). Then she decided to just start splashing around in the water and needed to wash her hands over and over and over again, with soap of course. At some point I thought I would let her have a little fun and through some dish soap in there and we washed her hands good and then after having been in the garden with bare feet and the water right there I washed her feet in the sink as well. All of this lead to the pictures below and our little family of 3 had a blast with all of the fun and laughs and couldn't wait to get our pics developed and share them with everyone! Now I can say that, yes, I gave my daughter a bath in the sink when she was little.

Mac 'n Cheese Soup

Okay, for those of you with kids that love Mac 'n Cheese here is a recipe from Pampered Chef that we've tried out and like. At least it's a little variety from the ordinary mac and cheese!

1 package (14 ounces) deluxe-type macaroni & cheese dinner
1 cup broccoli, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 cup water
2 1/2 cups milk
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cheddar cheese soup
1 cup cubed cooked ham (you can also substitute hot dogs and cut them up instead if you don't have ham)

1. Cook macaroni noodles according to the package directions, drain in colander and set aside.
2. Chop broccoli and onion
3. Combine broccoli, onion and water in casserole, bring to a boil and cook 2 minutes, do not drain.
4. Stir in cooked macaroni, cheese sauce from pouch, milk, cheese soup and ham. Return to a bowl, stirring occasionally.

All done! It's easy, pretty quick and my kiddo loved it! Enjoy

Omelete Recipe

I'm sure some people have seen this through an email, but I think it's a neat idea and thought I would post if for everyone to see again and get the directions.

ZIPLOC OMELET
(This works great !!! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet !!!)
Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.
Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.
Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc.
Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.
Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water.
Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.
Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece.

Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag in boiling water while you get ready. And in 13 minutes, you got a nice omelet for a quick breakfast!!!
I think my kids are going to like this!
