All the visitors have gone

Tonight I dropped my grandma and mom off at the airport at about 5pm.
After 10 days of company it is nice to have a night of nothing, although I don't think Dan or I would have mind if my mother would have stayed, it is so easy to raise 1 child with 3 adults, why haven't people thought about this before? (oh yeah, I think a 3-way marriage is illegal).
Thank the Lord that grandparents are legal! We had a great time playing cards and visiting and Dan enjoyed that my mother got up with Katelynn every morning except for one, but his lazy days are now over. Katelynn must have enjoyed spending time with grandma Renee as well and grandma must have worn her out everyday because she was sleeping until almost 8am every morning, but now Katelynn's lazy days are over as well, she has to be up at 7am and we are out the door at 7:15 (or at least attempt to be).
So let me give you a quick run down of the problems that did occur.
1 - Before the company came our DVD player went out of commission (not too worry we have a PlayStation 2 that can play DVDs as well, we were covered).
2 - A couple of days after Christmas and leaving my mom and Katelynn alone during the days our big screen TV decides to also go on the fritz, we turn it on and there is no screen, which means no cable, no movies, no playing the new game I bought where you need both the TV & the DVD player. (not too worry we have the extended warranty, but the guy doesn't come until Friday).
3 - Sunday Football. The last Vikings game is going to be on and the Broncos game to see if they make the playoffs is going to be on. Problem - the only TV with a DirecTV hook-up and a screen that works is in our bedroom, we made it work, took in a chair and Katelynn's toys and had a fun day hanging out in our bedroom. (This is why you should always make your bed every morning).
4 - Grandma tries to burn the house down. Grandma was going to make Katelynn some oatmeal for breakfast and was boiling some water and didn't realize until I saw it that it was a black plastic bowl (and pampered chef!) and was about to start melting. Close call.
5 - I came down with a fierce and vicious head cold on Friday, Dec. 29th (thank goodness for snow days) and wasn't up to snuff for the entire weekend (still am not up to par, this sinus crap is hanging on for dear life).

All in all we love to have company and visitors - the more the merrier. This weekend Dan has company coming to Denver for the Stock show and they should be stopping by the house one day while they are here - time to get the house back in order and get the Christmas crap down and put away!

Until Next time - Taryn.
