There's Always Time to Swing

It has been so wonderful to be able to go outside, especially for the kids.  Junior loves it outside.  He will wake up every weekend morning the last 3 weeks and immediately start saying "outside, outside".  I can't wait until it's really nice out and I can let him.  Katelynn is also so happy because the neighborhood kids are back outside too and they have been able to play together again. It is funny how we all hide in our houses most of the winter and then spring and summer we see and talk to each other every day.  I am attempting to try and learn how to do some action shots with my camera so I was attempting to get some clear one's while the kids were swinging.  I deleted a lot of them, but a few turned out.  I cannot wait until its warm enough for shorts!

My Big Boy Bed

Junior has been doing great in his big boy bed.  It's been roughly a month and we really only had one rocky week. The first week was really good and the next week he decided he would try to test the water and see what he could get away with.  He decided that second week that he wanted to rock in the rocking chair, go to his bed, get back out of bed and rock again and this kept on for awhile.  After we would leave the room he then would call for us and start yelling.  This didn't go over well for me.  It should not take an hour and half to put a kid to bed.  Back to the basics we went.  The next night when he tried this routine he was put back into his crib and I let him get pretty angry about it before I went back up and talked to him.  This is of course the benefit of not buying a crib that turns into their bed because when they physically see the crib that you can put them back into they know you really can.  He is so proud to have his bed and was so happy to take these pictures.  You can just see it in his eyes!  The last picture is him so bye-bye to his crib.  What a sweetheart I have.

Lunch with the Princesses

Katelynn's babysitter is in the Beauty and the Beast Play at her High School. This year they did a fundraiser.  They did such a great job.  They passed out flyers for kids to come dressed up as their favorite Disney Princess and come and take pictures and have lunch with them.  It was $10.00 a ticket.  Katelynn had a lot of fun and I was so impressed with the costumes and make-up and the kids on playing their characters.  I was surprised to see each of them with their prince as well.  The guys did a great job treating the princess's as you would expect them to be treated.  It was probably really good for the guys to learn how to treat a girl!  Here are the pictures that we took.  Each one of them also signed a little notebook that Katelynn got to keep as well.
